The new Jaguar XK models are called ‘Artisan SE’ and, as the name suggests, use the standard SE specification as a basis.
A standard XK coupe costs from £65,000 but new Artisan SE edition prices start from £77,350 for the coupe and £82,500 for the convertible.
The extra money has been spent on what Jaguar calls an ‘Artisan’ interior, a roundabout way of saying a range of bespoke and luxury equipment and materials have been added to the new Jaguar XK.
This includes new leather for the seats, doors and dashboard highlights, wood or aluminium veneer inside and a top-of-the-range sound system courtesy of Bowers & Wilkins.
There are also new performance seats, a heated steering wheel and new 20″ alloy wheels that are exclusive to the new special editions replacing the 18″ alloys on the standard model.
Inside, the colour scheme options include ‘navy with jet’ or ‘truffle with canvas’. The Jaguar XK Artisan SE convertible option can be specified with one of four different hood colours and a new colour, Celestial Black, is a new addition to the palette.
The extra kit comes on top of the extensive equipment already offered with the Jaguar XK, including a 7″ touch screen display, ISB connectivity, front and rear parking aids and a sat-nav system with DVD mapping.
Under the skin the Jaguar XK remains unchanged with a 5.0-litre V8 385PS petrol engine matched to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The Jaguar XK also comes with dynamic stability control and adaptive dynamics designed to improve the ride by adapting suspension and other aspects of the car depending on road conditions.
The Jaguar XK special editions come with ‘discreet’ tread plates and pedals to differentiate itself further from standard XK models.
The new Jaguar XK special editions are on sale in the UK now from £77,350 at dealerships such as Perrys Jaguar of Huddersfield.
