The new Fiat Ducato Tecnico will cost £16,995 before VAT, putting below the entry-level van and up to £6,000 less than the standard version with the same level of equipment.
Fiat says the new van is 25 per cent cheaper than the normal price for the standard Fiat Ducato but the current low price is only a temporary promotion.
Based on the long wheel-base version of the large panel van, the new Ducato Tecnico comes with a 2.3-litre 130bhp MultiJet engine used on the standard Ducato. The engine is fitted with fuel-saving stop-start technology .
The big news comes in terms of equipment, where previous optional extras are offered as standard on the new special edition.
New Fiat Ducato Tecnico drivers get air conditioning, Tom Tom Live navigator, Bluetooth, reverse parking sensors and, on the outside, front fog lights and special wheel trims.
Other cosmetic touches include a choice of red or white exterior colour. An optional ‘metallic aluminium grey’ colour can also be added for an extra £100.
“In these times when customers are seeking out extra value in their purchasing decisions, the new special series Ducato Tecnico provides customers with great value for money and also with the perfect business van to meet their requirements,” says Sebastiano Fedrigo, Director, Fiat Professional UK.
Van drivers who buy the new Fiat Ducato Tecnico will get a three-year warranty with roadside servicing and a two-year unlimited mileage warranty.
New Fiat Ducato Tecnico prices start from £16,995 on-the-road before VAT and Fiat plans to extend the range to a short-wheelbase version in future.
