Ahead of its official launch, the Renault Fluence Z.E has already made an appearance on UK roads as after deliveries of the new saloon were made to Climatecars and greentomatocars.
The Fluence Z.E is the second in Renault’s electric vehicle range after the 2011 launch of the Renault Kangoo van ZE and will be the first saloon to offer 100 per cent electric power and road tax exempt zero tailgate emissions in the UK.
The Fluence can travel 115 miles on a single charge, and when combined with the new Polar charge point campaign designed to install charging points across the UK, power supply won’t be short.
The Fluence’s electric powertrain delivers 226Nm of torque and 70kW of power. In terms of equipment the Fluence offers climate control, satellite navigation, on-board computer, cruise control and steering wheel mounted controls as standard.
Thierry Sybord, Managing Director, Renault UK, said, “Renault is the only company to be offering a full range of electric vehicles. We’re charging ahead with the launch of the first Z.E. models and have great ambitions for them.
“Fluence Z.E. will be the perfect way to be transported around the urban and suburban sprawl of the nation’s capital in refined and reliable electric style”.
Renault will extend its electric range to four when the Clio-size Renault Zoe and the tiny Renault Twizy urban electric car go on sale later this year.
As well as the Renault Fluence Z.E offering the edge of being the first full-electric car in its segment, its competitive price of £17,850 (before battery leasing costs) will give models like the Vauxhall Insignia and Ford Mondeo a run for their money.
Renault vehicles are available from Perry’s Aylesbury dealership.
