As the Rio is undoubtedly one of Kia’s top sellers, it has added a three-door model to its range to add extra flexibility to the Fiesta-challenging range.
The new three-door is in many ways like the five-door, as it has very similar equipment levels and engine options.
In terms of trim levels the new three-door Rio comes with four trim levels: 1, 1 Air, 2, 3. Standard entry level features of the 1 trim level include 15″ steel wheels, Bluetooth and MP3 compatibility and split folding rear seats to allow for more storage space.
The 1 Air trim is a derivative of the standard trim but with the added feature of air-conditioning. Prices for the ‘1’ and ‘1 Air’ trim range from £9,995 to £12,095.
The 2 trim offers 16″ alloy wheels, black cloth upholstery and leather trim steering wheel. The top of the range 3 trim offers cruise control, 17″ alloy wheels, automatic air conditioning and a six speaker stereo system. Prices for the 2 trim start from £11,895 and prices for the 3 trim start from £13,195.
There are four engines available in total which include two petrol and two diesels. However, the more likely option in the range is probably going to be the 1.1-litre diesel which emits just 94g/km of CO2 emissions, it is also the most economical in the range.
These low emissions are thanks to Kia’s stop & start and EcoDynamics technology. But if you want this engine you’re going to have to bump up your specification to at least the 1 Air trim, which starts from £12,095.
The new three-door Kia Rio is out now and prices range from £9,995 to £14,295.
Kia vehicles are available from Perry’s Burnley, Preston and Rotherham dealerships.
