The Fiat 500 has won yet another city car accolade at the BusinessCar Awards, which makes this its fourth year in a row to win the award.
But this honour was not just for a single Fiat 500 version as it acknowledged each and every model in the established 500 range.
This includes the likes of the 1.4-litre petrol, 1.3-litre turbodiesel and the arguably best addition to the range, the 0.9-litre TwinAir model.
The two-cylinder petrol TwinAir engine gives the Fiat 500 range a definite edge in the business car/fleet market as it delivers CO2 emissions of just 95g/km and returns up to 68.9mpg, qualities that gained it the ‘International Engine of the Year’ award.
These low emissions mean that the TwinAir model falls into the lowest 13 per cent BIK tax bracket, which means it is more cost effective for business buyers.
Away from its business qualities, the general style and customisable nature of the Fiat 500 has given it a strong stance in terms of street credit and young buyer market appeal.
Unlike many other awards the BusinessCar Awards isn’t decided on the basis of specialist opinions or sales figures. It is decided by the readers of BusinessCar magazine in an online vote.
Paul Barker, editor of BusinessCar said: “Fiat’s 500 has again proved to be a business car market favourite, and Fiat’s advancement with its TwinAir technology has enhanced the excellent city car’s appeal to the sector.
“The readers of BusinessCar are obviously fans of the 500’s combination of fun and frugality, having picked it as their favourite city car for the fourth year in a row.”
Fiat vehicles are available from Perry’s Portsmouth, Amersham and Aylesbury dealerships.
