Citroen is upgrading the DS3 with plusher materials to take on upmarket small cars such as the Fiat 500 – but it does break the £20,000 mark.
Citroens’ new DS3 trim level is called the Ultra Prestige and offers an array of cosmetic and technological perks, as well as two new engines.
Its interior benefits from new two tone leather upholstery featured on the seats, doors and centre arm rest and an alpine leather dashboard with an embossed DS signature, which includes interior matching white panels. Other features include air conditioning, Bluetooth and satellite navigation.
Outside cosmetics include two exterior paint jobs carried across from the DSport trim level: Polar White and Thorium Grey. There are also 17″ charcoal-grey alloy wheels, a sports spoiler and a colour contrasting roof, which changes in the light.
The two new engines for the DS3 include a THP 155 petrol and a e-HDi 110 diesel. The petrol delivers CO2 emissions of 139g/km and returns 47.1mpg. The diesel is the more economical of the two and emits just 99g/km and returns 74.4mpg. With the diesel’s sub 100g/km the DS3 is exempt from road tax.
This road tax exempt bonus is especially important in the current market as models like the DS3 supermini attract younger buyers because of its style, so the more discount the better.
The new Citroen DS3 Ultra Prestige is available to buy now and prices start from £20,700.
Citroen vehicles are available from Perry’s Barnsley, Huddersfield and Milton Keynes dealerships.
