Seat’s popular Ibiza has been given plenty of new features and upgrades for 2012 with striking new body colours the most noticeable at first glance.
This Ibiza model boasts a new honeycomb-style front grille which makes the front end look wider and sportier on the road.
It also features new front and rear bumpers with a similar design to the sporty Ibiza FR version as Seat targets a younger buyer than its parent brand, Volkswagen.
In terms of engines the Ibiza offers a wide range of new economical options. However one of the most impressive is the 1.2 TDI E Ecomotive which offers CO2 emissions of just 89g/km, with help from stop & start technology. This engine is offered on all body variants, such as the estate model.
This sub 100g/km puts the Ibiza in good stead for the current market as it matches, if not beats, competing models and also benefits from road tax exemption.
The Ibiza’s interior offers convenient features like climate control, but its most impressive perk is its storage capacity. This spans up to 292-litres in the three/five door Ibiza SC models and to a massive 1,164 litres in the Ibiza ST estate. On the road the Ibiza offers Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and a choice of either 15″ or 17″ alloy wheels.
Dr Matthias Rabe, Executive Vice President for Research and Development at SEAT, S.A. said: ‘The new Ibiza is a clear showcase for SEAT’s technical expertise. The Ibiza is the sportiest and most versatile offering in its competitive field.’
The new Seat Ibiza is expected to be released in the UK sometime in spring 2012. Full details of trim levels and prices will be released nearer to its release date.
Seat vehicles are available from Perry’s Aylesbury dealership.
