Ford’s new EcoSport has a lot of the design elements you would expect to see on an SUV such as a high driving position and high ground clearance.
But as well conveying the obvious characteristics of an SUV the Ford EcoSport also incorporates a unique aerodynamic body shape which gives it a deceivingly compact body shape.
In fact, the car is actually based on the Ford Fiesta, the UK’s best-selling car of 2011. However, it comes with a new design which takes its cues from concepts such as the large Vertrek SUV.
Distinctive design elements include its headlights which flow with the design of the front end and slightly wrap around the front of the car.
The Ford EcoSport’s design has also been largely focused on being economical and is expected to feature Ford’s low emissions Econetic and Ecoboost technology for both its diesel and petrol engines.
As the Ford EcoSport is an SUV high quality equipment is a must have, and the EcoSport doesn’t disappoint. This includes features such as Ford SYNC technology and the now mandatory Electronic Stability Control (ESC).
This new SUV model will hopefully help expand Ford’s global popularity in car markets in Brazil and India, and hopefully the new EcoSport will make an appearance in the UK market in the near future.
