Range Rover plans new bigger Evoque model?

Following the success of the already acclaimed Evoque, Autocar have announced that they think Range Rover will bring out a new large Evoque model for 2015.

The Evoque has gained its popularity as the more affordable Range Rover and according to Autocar this will be retained with the Grand Evoque model as Autocar says Land Rover has been considering prices of about £35,000.

According to Autocar the design of this Evoque is expected to be largely influenced by the original Evoque design with regards to body language. Changes wise the new Grand Evoque will have a larger underbody and a bigger overhang, meaning it will have a bigger boot.

In terms of engines Autocar believe there will be a new range of engines from Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) which will include a 1.8-litre 170hp turbo petrol and 133hp diesels. Alongside its new engines JLR are also expected to incorporate hybrid technology.

This new Grand Evoque is set to challenge the likes of the BMW X and the Audi Q, which will be its main competitors if it were to be put into production.

If this new Grand Evoque does go into production it will hopefully retain the low cost reputation of the original Evoque model, which at the moment stands at £27,995. It will also hopefully retain the unbeatable reputation of Land Rovers off-road vehicles like the Defender model.

However, there is some confusion over where a larger Range Rover Evoque model would sit in the range considering the standard Range Rover and the smaller Range Rover Sport currently on sale.

Range Rover vehicles are available from Perrys Land Rover Halifax and Perrys Land Rover Huddersfield dealerships.
