It will ensure that the manufacturer remains a ‘global leader in terms of engineering knowledge and expertise’, says JLR. To do so, JLR and IMechE have outlined a number of plans to help the development of professional engineers at the Gaydon-based manufacturer.
They include giving JLR engineers technical training from IMechE before JLR continues their development.
With this agreement in place JLR hopes it will be able to create better cars for the future by having the best trained staff at its disposal.
The agreement was signed by Bob Joyce, group engineering director at IMechE, he said:
“Continued up-skilling of existing engineers will enable development of new technical skills for future technology innovation and the use of new scientific and technological solutions to improve the performance and efficiency of our cars and manufacturing processes.”

Jaguar vehicles are available from Perry’s Huddersfield dealership.
