The Vauxhall Astra GTC coupe is one of the most exciting car launches of 2011. The sporty, three-door coupe is in Vauxhall dealerships up and down the country now and, as this video shows, customers are thrilled with the new ‘warm hatch’.
The coupe, a sleek, sporty model, has proved a hit with Vauxhall customers, who compare it favourably to a Volkswagen Scirocco and even an Audi A3 – a car often associated with the more premium end of the market.
Below, you can see happy customers picking up the new Vauxhall Astra GTC from their local Perrys Vauxhall dealership and hear why the latest Vauxhall model is exciting car buyers so much.
What is the Vauxhall Astra GTC?
The three-door Astra GTC is essentially a sporty ‘warm hatch’ which offers impressive running costs. It is ideal if you are looking for a family car or run around that’s got a bit more of a sporty feel.
First of all it is worth noting that the Astra GTC has a choice of six engines (three petrol’s and three diesels). This helps give the GTC compatibility for different customers. It also has a choice of two trim levels, Sport and the best selling SRi.
The Astra GTC’s exterior design is very sporty and has aerodynamic sport like lines on the doors. It also has flared wheel arches that make it stand out compared to the original Astra model. The GTC’s sporty exterior is topped off with stylish 18″ alloy wheels; 20″ wheels are available with the SRi trim.
Practicality wise the GTC has plenty of boot space with 380-litres worth of storage space and a maximum 1,165-litre with the seats folded down.
When it comes to actually driving the Astra GTC it is comfortable, smooth and handles corners great. To prove its agility and power it took place in a hill climb challenge in a media test session where it proved it can perform in all terrains and weather conditions.
The GTC has had finer tuning to its chassis and suspension and these are what give it that smooth ride on the road. It also makes the GTC especially prepared for tougher roads with bad conditions, which is always a bonus with the UK’s infamous reputation for tricky road conditions.
Inside the GTC are high quality interior features such as a digital radio, which is standard, and many other useful functions like USB functionality, on board computer and a leather trimmed steering wheels. All of these features are standard.
The entry level price of the Vauxhall GTC is £18,495.
