Jaguar’s new XKR-S convertible is fastest ever

The XKR-S is officially Jaguar’s most powerful GT convertible model ever built. This new Jaguar XKR-S convertible plays upon the Jaguar S-line model and offers a more performance-based driving experience.

This new model is available with a supercharged AJ-V8 GENIII petrol engine which produces 542hp of power and 680Nm of torque. This gives the car a top speed of 186mph and a 0-60mph capability of 4.4 seconds.

The exterior styling of the car is very sporty with things like air vents on the bonnet and an aerodynamic body style.

A new wider front bumper with lower air intake is also featured alongside a new unique rear wing with carbon fibre inserts. Dark lightweight 20″ Vulcan design alloy wheels are also featured.

The new convertible’s roof opens and stows in just 18 seconds, which compared to other convertibles is very fast.

The car’s interior includes performance seats trimmed in carbon leather, increased side and squab support to hold driver and passenger securely during high speed cornering, Jaguar-embossed bright stainless steel pedals and a glossy black centre console.

Ian Callum, director of design, Jaguar Cars said:”Taking the track-oriented ethos of the XKR-S Coupe and applying it to a convertible is very exciting. There is a real spirit and thrill to driving with the roof down and in a car capable of these speeds that is going to be exaggerated to create a very dramatic and special experience.”

UK deliveries for the new convertible take place early in the New Year.

Prices for the new Jaguar XKR-S are estimated to start at £103,000. Jaguar vehicles are available from Perry’s Huddersfield dealership.
