Jaguar CX16 makes US debut

Many popular models will be making an appearance in Los Angeles including the Jaguar XKR-S Convertible, Land Rover DC100 and the award winning Jaguar C-X16 concept.

However, the C-X16 is expected to be the star of the show because it is expected to be prepared for production.

The Jaguar C-X16 was originally revealed as a concept by Jaguar and is a compact sports car designed to take on rivals such as Porsche and its 911 model.

The design takes cues from the stunning Jaguar C-X75 supercar concept, a jet-powered design study which wowed the crowds at the Paris Motor Show in 2010.

The smaller C-X16 model has a powerful 375hp 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine. This powerful engine gives the C-X16 an impressive 0-62mph capability of just 4.4 seconds and has a top speed of 186mph.

The C-X16’s emissions are also impressive with a reported 41mpg and C02 emission of 165g/km, which for a sport car is not that bad. Exterior design wise the C-X16 is very stylish with a low coupe like roofline and aerodynamic body.

Dr. Ralf Speth, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover said: “Jaguar Land Rover is proud to be demonstrating for the U.S. market the latest design and technology advancements we have made with both brands.

“Our presence here reflects the fact that the U.S. is an important market for our global growth plans, and Southern California is a key region from a business and a global trends perspective.”

Jaguar vehicles, including the Jaguar XK, Jaguar XF and Jaguar XJ , are available with Perry’s Huddersfield dealership. The Los Angeles International Automobile Show is running from November 16 – 28.
