Seat removes VAT from Ibiza and Leon

The ‘Pay No VAT’ offer is available on both the new Seat Ibiza Copa and the new Seat Leon Copa models, the two entry-level versions of the supermini and small family hatchback respectively.

As a result of the Seat discount, the five-door Ibiza 1.4-litre SE Copa now costs £10,699 on-the-road – more than £2,000 more than the original price and taking the Ibiza down into city car territory in terms of price.

The Seat Leon 1.6-litre S Copa hatchback comes with a saving of £3,000, bringing the entry-level price down to under £15,000.

Both cars come with alloy wheels, climate control, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control and a sound system with both CD and MP3 compatibility.

The Leon, a small family car going up against the likes of the Ford Focus and Vauxhall Astra in the UK, is available in three- or four-door variations.

Peter Wyhinny, Managing Director of Seat UK, said: ‘It has been a fantastic year for Seat so far and, year to date, we have recorded our highest ever share of the UK’s new car market.

‘The popularity of our previous ‘Pay No VAT’ offer and the incredible added value of our limited edition Copa models have both clearly helped that success. Now we are combining the appeal of these to produce what I believe is the very best new car offer around!’

In the past 12 months the Seat line up has been bolstered by the introduction of the Seat Alhambra MPV, which has won numerous awards since launch including ‘Best MPV’ at the What Car? awards.

The Spanish car maker has also launched its Ecomotive series of engines which deliver sub-100g/km on both the Ibiza and Leon, meaning both are eligible for free road tax and exemption from the London congestion charge in the UK.
