No VAT on new Kia Cee’d hatchback

The five-door Cee’d and smaller, sportier Pro_Cee’d will have the 20 per cent rate of VAT taken off from their price in one of the biggest savings available in 2011.

This means a Kia Cee’d will now cost from £11,373 – a big drop from the £13,500 prices tag previously offered with the practical five-door hatchback.

It puts the Kia Cee’d far below key competitors in terms of entry level price. For example, the Ford Focus, the best-selling hatchback in the UK, starts from £14,000 and the Chevrolet Cruze hatchback is priced at £13,500 after recent price drops.

Meanwhile, the three-door Pro_Cee’d, designed as a sportier, more stylish alternative to the Cee’d, is priced from £11,207.

Both price reductions will be available on the Kia cars until the end of December at Kia dealerships.

The Kia Cee’d is well known for its value-for-money, not least by BBC’s Top Gear where it is the current ‘Reasonably Priced Car’ in the ‘Star in a Reasonably Priced Car’ segment, which puts celebrities such as Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz in the hatchback in a race around the Top Gear track.

Owners of older Kia Cee’d cars will get an even bigger discount with a new Cee’d until the end of December. All Kia Cee’d cars between seven and ten years’ old can be traded in for £3,300 off a new model as part of Kia’s seven-year Switch programme.

The Kia Cee’d price reductions are available at Kia dealerships now and will run until the last day of December.
