A 55-mile bike ride sounds hard enough but one which also includes a seven-mile climb to the top of the famous Cat and Fiddle route is a mammoth task.
It is one Perrys Bolton staff are attempting in order to raise money for cystic fibrosis and cancer research.
Three members of staff at the Perrys Bolton dealership are taking a break from selling the latest Peugeot cars to scale the route on 2nd October.
The sales manager, service manager and parts manager will all take part in the ride and for one of them, it promises to be a difficult task.
While Roy Hughes and Jon Bleakley have previously completed a Manchester to Blackpool bike ride, Jason Kenny will be doing his first lengthy bike challenge on the day.
It is also a personal challenge for Jason, whose Mother-in-Law is battling cancer at the moment and as a result he has set up a JustGiving page for those who wish to sponsor him.
We can’t help thinking it would be easier in a Peugeot RCZ borrowed from the dealership, but the three intrepid cyclists will set off on the task on Sunday 2nd October and everybody here at Perrys Motors wishes them luck.
We’ll be updating you on the results of the challenge after it happens but in the meantime, you can contact the dealership to show your support, or pop into the showroom in person.
The Perrys Peugeot of Bolton dealership can be found on Bridgeman Street, Bolton.
