The large SUV will be introduced to UK car dealerships in time for winter, where typically sales of large SUVs, and in particular 4×4 cars, are increasingly popular in the country.
The 2012 Renault Koleos is essentially an update to the current version, which itself is only three years old.
As a result, the modern SUV features a new front end in keeping with some of the newer models in the Renault range.
A new grille gives way to a chunky front end, new LED lights and pronounced wheel-arches. A dipping roof gives the car a sportier silhouette and but the five-door practicality of the SUV is retained.
Inside the new Renault Koleos, drivers now get a choice from a range of new upholstery and materials as well as a tweak to the speedometer styling.
The biggest changes are unsurprising given ever-stricter EU emissions. The new Renault Koleos comes with some new diesel engine, including a 150hp unit delivering just 148g/km of CO2 emissions.
The figure relates to two-wheel drive models, but four-wheel drive versions also offer reduced CO2 emissions and improved fuel economy over the current Koleos and petrol versions will also be made available with the new model.
The new Renault Koleos is a large, practical 4×4 with a five-star safety rating and clever split tailgate and 70-litres of boot space with the rear row of seats up.
The new Renault Koleos will go on sale at Renault dealerships from 11 October 2011, but there is no news if it will reach UK showrooms yet.
