The one-off Commemorative Edition 2011 Jaguar XK is painted in the same colour as a restored 1970 Jaguar E-Type and will be auctioned off in the US later this month.
First, the model will be showcased at Pebble Beach, an annual show featuring classic and luxury cars from the past and present.
The special edition Jaguar XK is expected to fetch up to $200,000 at auction because of its unique colour scheme and link to the classic E-Type.
Currently celebrating its 50th anniversary, the E-Type is popular both in the UK and America because of its stunning design.
The car was once described by Enzo Ferrari as the most beautiful car in the world, and Beau Boeckmann, Vice President of Galpin Motors, agrees.
“I agree with Enzo Ferrari’s statement that the E-type Jaguar is the most beautiful automotive sports car design ever. I could not miss the opportunity to celebrate the E-Type’s 50th anniversary.”
While the one-off special edition will not be available at Perrys Motors dealership in the UK, the Jaguar XK coupe and convertible models are.
Priced from £65,000 for XK Coupe versions and £71,000 for the convertible model, the Jaguar XK comes with a 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine capable of an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
Standard models feature 18″ alloy wheels, bi-Xenon headlamps and daytime running lights. Inside, sports seats, a seven inch touch screen, sat-nav, leather upholstery and a high-end sound system are included as standard.
A new, smaller two-seat concept car based on the Jaguar XK will be unveiled in Europe at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
