The Macmillan Primrose Unit at Bedford Hospital will increase the number of Zafira MPVs it uses from three to four from this week to allow it to take more patients to and from the unit.
This, says Vauxhall, will mean the amount of time a patient is away from home during their daily treatment will be greatly reduced.
The Zafira MPV is the largest car in the Vauxhall range. Capable of seating seven, the Zafira was one of the first models to use Vauxhall’s clever flexible seating system.
This allows the seats to be moved and folded to alloy for several different combinations, including the option of using less seats and creating more storage space instead.
Cherie Denton, Vauxhall’s Community Officer, said: “The Vauxhall Zafira is ideal as the patients are able to get in and out of the vehicle with ease and the extra room permits either family members to travel with them or wheelchair storage if needed. We have been providing the Charity with vehicles for the past 5 years.”
The Vauxhall Zafira also comes with a range of airbags as standard – the car received a five-star EuroNCAP safety rating – and despite its size, is one of the most agile MPVs on the road.
Prices for the Vauxhall Zafira start from as low as £15,500 and include Vauxhall’s industry-leading unlimited warranty, which covers the car for an unlimited period of time for up to 100,000 miles.
The Vauxhall Zafira is on sale now from Perrys Vauxhall dealerships and the range will be extended with the larger Vauxhall Zafira Tourer towards the end of 2011.
The Vauxhall Zafira Tourer boasts a new design inside and out as Vauxhall updates the range. This includes a new front end, more sculpted sides and an interior described as ‘a lounge on wheels’ by the design team.
