Appearing alongside the new diesel XF executive saloon and subtle updates to the XK and XKR models, the most powerful car in the XK range comes with a hefty price tag of £97,000.
This is £32,000 more than standard Jaguar XK coupe models and £18,000 more than the previous range-topper, the Jaguar XKR, but the XKR-S adds plenty of power to get excited about.
The 542bhp of power is the highest in the range and translates to a top speed of 186mph where legal. Reaching 60mph from standing takes just 4.2 seconds and 100mph is achievable in 8.7 seconds.
This is enough to take the title of fastest Jaguar production car ever produced, at least until the Jaguar C-X75 supercar enters the market.
The car first appeared at the Geneva Motor Show in March in striking blue attire designed to highlight the changes to the exterior over the Jaguar XK coupe.
These include slimmer headlights and the introduction of small LED running lights. The larger grille is essential to get air to the impressive engine, and is painted black on the XKR-S for a more aggressive feel.
Inside, sculpted leather sports seats make an appearance for the first time on an Jaguar XK model and all models in the range will receive upgraded trim for the 2011 model year.
The new Jaguar XKR-S and the refreshed Jaguar XK and XKR will go on sale in the UK in September, but all of the cars will be appearing at the MotorExpo at Canary Wharf, London on Monday 6 June.
Jaguar cars attending the show also include the new Jaguar XF and extra Rear Seat Comfort Pack for the Jaguar XJ, which delivers a host of new features such as massaging seats and footrests.
