The Spanish manufacturer’s On Track with Seat television programme, which allowed 12 artists to record a one-off session in just one take, was awarded the top honour at the Music Week Awards at the Roundhouse in Camden.
Head of Marketing at Seat, Steve Robertson said: "In SEAT we’re passionate not just about our cars but about the way that we bring our brand to life. I think On Track with SEAT and our partnership with Universal Music really reflected that passion.
"I know that the challenge to the artists of laying down live tracks to vinyl was something they loved, and this really came across in the shows and recordings."
Renowned artists such as Ellie Goulding, Amy Macdonald, The Coral and Tinchy Stryder all recorded a session as part of the programme, which was broadcast on Channel 4 in the UK.
On announcing the winners, the judges at the awards said: "In a very strong shortlist, Universal and SEAT emerged as the partnership that best demonstrated the potential for mutual interest between music and brand."
It isn’t the first time Seat has sponsored musical talent. Late last year the brand secured sponsorship of Shakira’s European tour and even released an equipment-packed special edition Seat Ibiza named after one of the singer’s songs.
The Seat Ibiza Good Stuff added more equipment and unique interior and exterior colours to the Ibiza three-door and SC models for a price of £12,300 and £12,710 respectively.
The Spanish manufacturer, which is owned by Volkswagen, also enjoys sponsorship of football’s Europa League, Fulham FC and a Seat Fives amateur football tournament.
A second series of On Track will be filmed later in the year prior to it being broadcast on Channel 4 once again.
