Peugeot is offering a competition winner the chance to go into space as part of its campaign for the new Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4 – the first ever diesel hybrid to be sold in the UK.
Peugeot has launched a website (www.spot3008.com) with a panoramic of London. The image is hiding 20 Peugeot 3008 crossovers and for each one found, competitors are given one entry into the competition.
However, if all 20 are found, the visitor to the website gains 100 entries. For those who do not want to take part, Peugeot is also offering 100 entries for anybody taking the groundbreaking Peugeot 3008 for a test drive from a Peugeot dealership.
Morgan Lecoupeur, Director of Marketing Peugeot UK, said: “At Peugeot we are again boldly going where no other car manufacturer has gone before!
“Incredibly it is 50 years since Yuri Gagarin made that historic first trip into space and who would have thought we at Peugeot would be giving someone the opportunity to follow in his footsteps. Whoever wins could become one of just a handful of Britons who have ever ventured there.”
Each contestant can enter a maximum of 200 entries into the competition, which offers the prize of a flight to the edge of the earth’s atmosphere.
The Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4 uses a 2.0-litre diesel engine matched to an electric motor to develop 200bhp and improve fuel economy in the practical five-seat crossover. Diesel hybrids are so rare because of the cost of the technology, but Peugeot has achieved a breakthrough in recent years.
A four-wheel drive version is available and a choice of four driving modes means the 3008 can cope with a number of different surface conditions.
The Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 will go on sale in the UK later in 2011 for a price of £20,000.
