Focus on the Seat Ibiza ST

The Seat Ibiza ST has been named the winner of a top award this week. It was named ‘Most Rated’ by car website Honest John.

The award is particularly important because it is not judged by a panel of experts, instead it is based on ratings of the cars by the owners themselves.

Seat is a modest-sized manufacturer compared to the large volume manufacturers such as Ford and Vauxhall and the award by drivers will be huge boost to the quality, desirability and efficiency of the estate model.

The Seat Ibiza supermini is available in sporty SC body style, more traditional hatchback and the award-winning ST.

Welcoming the latest title win for SEAT Ibiza Product Manager Simon Bradley said: "The Ibiza ST has made a great impact on the UK motoring scene since it made its debut here last year.

"For it to claim a win in these inaugural awards is great news, and becomes all the more important when you consider that the ratings which secured it the win came from obviously very satisfied Ibiza ST owners themselves."

The Seat Ibiza ST was only introduced last year, but it seems it has been a huge hit in the UK already and in recognition of the award, we’ve compiled a ‘focus on’ the Seat Ibiza ST.
What is the Seat Ibiza ST?

The Seat Ibiza ST is the estate-style version of the Ibiza supermini. Small, compact and frugal, the car is also extremely stylish and renowned for its fun, responsive drive.

It forms part of the biggest range in Seat’s history and is one of Seat’s biggest successes in the UK.

Why should I buy the Seat Ibiza ST?

First of all, here is the view of Honest John’s Editor Dan Harrison: "The ‘Most Rated’ title is one of our most important awards because it comes from real owners.

"It may have been on sale for less than a year, but the Ibiza ST is already a favourite among our users who rate its value for money, practicality and impressive load area."

The Seat Ibiza ST takes the handling and style of the hatchback version and adds five-door practicality with a boot space of 430 litres with the seats up.

It really impresses in terms of running costs as well. The Ibiza ST delivers CO2 emissions of 92g/km – one of the lowest for a conventionally powered car on the market.

This means the Seat Ibiza ST is free from UK road tax and exempt from the London congestion charge. With fuel economy over 80mpg, it is also one of the most frugal models on the market.

Style and economy is a rare thing in a small car, but Seat manages it with ease. And, if you’re worried about reliability, don’t be. The Seat Ibiza ST uses engines from parent company Volkswagen, whose engines are famous for delivering strong performance and inherent reliability.
