Kevin Orrell, of Sheffield, correctly remembered key words from John Brunning’s show on the Classic FM channel to win the car and a host of other prizes.
He also won a holiday to Cape Town, a visit from a home interior designer, £850 worth of home improvement vouchers and the promise of a year’s free groceries.
"I listen to quite a lot of classical music, and I like competitions," said Kevin. "I often catch John Brunning’s show on my way home from work and I thought it would be fun to enter, especially as the prizes were so good."
The prize is a Mazda2 1.5-litre Automatic in TS2 specification. The model, which would cost £12,375 from new, includes 15" alloy wheels, body coloured door handles and heated electric folding mirrors.
Inside, the car includes a CD player with four speakers, steering wheel audio controls, leather highlights to the steering wheel and gear knob and air conditioning.
It was picked up from the dealership on Claycliffe Road, Barugh Green, where Perrys stocks a full range of Mazda cars, from the small Mazda2 up to the new seven-seat Mazda5 people carrier.
Dealer Principal, Alan Greenwood was quick to offer his congratulations: "We’re delighted that a local man has won John Brunning’s biggest ever competition.
"Kevin beat over 3,300 other entrants from all over Britain. I am certain he will enjoy driving the Mazda2 Automatic, which we think is relaxing and fun to drive – a bit like the best classical music."
