Designed to celebrate Renault’s sporting heritage and following on from the Laguna Coupe Monaco GP limited edition in 2010, the Megane Coupe version features some racing-inspired touches outside and in.
The Megane Coupe Monaco GP limited edition will feature thinner headlights and a larger air intake at the front of the car and 17" gloss black alloy wheels.
The gloss black colour scheme for the door mirrors, rear diffuser and light surrounds is offset by as white body colour for the special edition model.
Inside, the car is based on the Dynamique specification model but adds unique upholstery with a Monaco GP logo to match the same badge on the exterior and floor mats.
Each example of the limited edition features a numbered plaque and a black cabin with white detailing.
Other equipment added to the Megane Coupe Monaco GP includes Carminat TomTom Live satellite navigation, rear parking sensors and electric folding door mirrors.
This builds on the Dynamique trim, which includes tinted side and rear windows, air conditioning, front fog lights, Bluetooth connectivity and automatic headlights.
The special edition Renault Megane comes with two engine choices. The diesel option is a 1.9-litre dCi 130 unit while the petrol powerplant is Renault’s 1.4-litre unit.
The Renault Megane Coupe Monaco GP special edition will be unveiled in the metal at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2010 before going on sale in 14 different countries.
The car, which Renault says will bring ‘elegance, sport and style’, will arrive in UK showrooms in April 2011.
