The best-selling family car in the UK will be available to buy within six weeks after Ford confirmed the launch date.
Priced from £15,995 on-the-road, the new Ford Focus will be available in five-door hatchback and the larger, more practical five-door estate body style.
The Ford Focus will be available with four levels of specification from launch; entry-level Edge, Zetec, Titanium and the top-of-the-range Titanium X specification.
These will be offered with sevenengines comprising three petrol and four diesel options. The petrol options are led by Ford’s efficient EcoBoost family and features Start-Stop technology which turns the engine off when the car is stationary to save fuel.
The EcoBoost engine is a 1.6-litre unit delivering average fuel consumption of 47mpg and CO2 emissions of 139g/km.
Diesel options include a 1.6-litre Duratorq delivering CO2 emissions of 109g/km -qualifying the Focus for zero first year road task.
It is joined by a 1.6-litre Duratec diesel and a larger, 2.0-litre Duratorq as the top of the range.
“We are very excited about introducing the new Ford Focus to the European market given the strong heritage this model has here,” said Stephen T. Odell, Chairman and CEO, Ford of Europe.
The Ford Focus is a favourite with UK buyers because of its sharp looks, best-in-class driving dynamics and low running costs compared to rival models.
The car is the second best-selling model in the UK after the smaller Ford Fiesta and has sold over 1.4 million units in the UK alone.
The new Ford Focus is available for under £16,000, rising to £25,095 for the range-topping Titanium X model with a 2.0-litre diesel engine and automatic transmission.
