The Korean manufacturer was awarded the top title ahead of luxury manufacturers such as Land Rover and Lexus after two of its models picked up individual awards.
The new Kia Sportage won the Junior SUV title, which the Sorento triumphed in the SUV category, voted for by the editorial team of the magazine.
Alan Kidd, Editor, said: "The fact that Kia has managed to introduce two such outstanding vehicles in the last 12 months, and do so at incredibly keen prices, makes it our Manufacturer of the Year, too: no contest.”
The Kia Sorento was praised for being more practical inside than many luxury rivals, while the Kia Sportage was singled out because of its stylish looks which, says Kidd ‘blow(s) most of its premium opposition out of the water’.
Michael Cole, Managing Director, Kia Motors (UK) Limited said: "We’ve always been confident about the abilities of Sportage and Sorento and are delighted that these have been recognised by one of the UK’s leading off-road magazines.
"Being chosen as Total Off Road’s manufacturer of the year is the icing on the cake."
Both the Sorento and Sportage have been launched in the past 12 months. The Sorento, available in two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive versions, also comes with a choice of five or seven-seat configuration.
The Kia Sportage is also available in two-wheel drive format and comes with a choice of two petrol and two turbo-diesel engines.
The Kia Sorento starts from £22,495 for two-wheel drive versions and the Kia Sportage is priced from £16,645. Both models come with Kia’s seven-year warranty – one of the longest warranties available on a new car in the UK.
