Arriving as much of the UK is in the grip of ice and thick snow, the updated SUV is expected to be a popular choice with people looking to beat the winter chill.
“At less than £20k, the new Antara is set to be highly competitive in today’s SUV market," said Nigel Demaline, General Sales Manager at Perrys. "Its lower emissions, higher output diesel engines and refreshed design will offer renewed appeal to both retail and fleet customers."
The Antara was previously nearly £3,000 more than the latest version, which includes the option of two- and four-wheel drive and a host of new equipment.
The all-wheel drive option, expected to be the most popular model during the winter months, features the ability to switch between two- and four-wheel drive depending on the road conditions.
This includes an electric parking brake, hill start assist and a ‘shift-up’ indicator to help drivers in the wintry conditions.
Vauxhall will also make its snow socks available for the Antara after a huge surge in interest at Perrys dealers for the winter accessory in the past two weeks.
The Vauxhall Antara is available at both the Burnley and Colne dealerships, and comes with a new Euro 5 emissions-compliant engine in the shape of a 2.2-litre diesel in 163bhp or 184bhp variations.
The car also features a completely reworked and upgraded interior and a new chassis and suspension set up to improve both on- and off-road performance.
The Vauxhall Antara 4×4 SUV will arrive in UK showrooms in December 2011, just days before the 2.5 per cent increase in VAT comes into effect.
