The French manufacturer was the only one to pick up two awards, which honour the best dealer and manufacturer websites of the year.
Citroen’s website was awarded the top award, ‘Car Manufacturer Website of the Year’, while the manufacturer also picked up the ‘Special Achievement of the Year’ award for an interactive campaign featuring a large chicken washing a C3 supermini.
The ‘Wash Me If You Can’ campaign featured five characters, including the chicken, on a separate microsite. Visitors to the site could choose a character to attempt to wash the new Zenith panoramic windscreen of the C3, with four out of five failing.
James Baggot, Editor at Car Dealer magazine commented: "Winning one Eward is a huge achievement considering the ferocious competition every year, so for Citroën to take home two is absolutely outstanding.
"The Special Achievement Eward for the C3 animated online advert was in a very tough category too, but the combination of fun, high production values and the way it locked users into the site for a long period of time all won favour with the judges."
The new Citroen website, voted the best out of all manufacturers by judges, features a new scrolling menu system to make it easier to look at the Citroen range of cars and vans.
Launched in June, the website coincided with the launch of several new models in the Citroen range, including the premium Citroen DS3 supermini and the low-CO2 Citroen C3 Airdream+ model.
Jules Tilstone, Citroën UK’s Marketing Director, said: "We wish to thank Car Dealer. Awards like these mean a lot to us and the Citroën dealer network."
Perrys, which boasts Citroen dealers in Barnsley, Huddersfield and Milton Keynes, reported on the ‘Wash me if you can’ campaign on the Perrys Blog earlier this year.
