Unfortunately for UK buyers, the Citroen DS3 Racing has been available to pre-order since September and after 1,500 initial enquiries, all 200 right hand drive versions are now sold out.
Those lucky enough to get their hands on the performance hatchback will receive them early in 2011.
Based on the DS3 supermini, the DS3 Racing uses a turbo-charged 1.6-litre petrol engine delivering 207hp and 275Nm of torque.
A top speed of 146mph puts it firmly in hot hatch territory and it boasts a 0-62mph sprint time of 6.5 seconds.
Although based on the DS3, the DS3 Racing adds carbon fibre components such as the rear diffuser, front bumper, side rubbing strips and wheel arch extensions.
Only two colour schemes have been made available; a striking gloss black with orange roof and trim, or a white body with grey roof.
Citroen Racing badging can be seen throughout, and the DS3 Racing benefits from sports seats as well as more conventional equipment such as air conditioning, USB connectivity, an eight-speaker sound system, rear parking sensors and switchable Electronic Stability Programme (ESP).
Citroen DS3 Racing prices are £23,100 including the new 20 per cent VAT rate of tax, with the first deliveries taking place early in 2011.
The DS3 Racing is based on the first of Citroen’s more premium DS Line of cars, which started with the DS3 supermini and was followed by the introduction of the C4-based DS4.
The third model in the DS Line will be a Citroen DS5, while a drop-top version of the Citroen DS3 is rumoured to be in the pipeline for the French manufacturer in 2011.
