Jaguar Land Rover restructures management

In the UK, ex-Managing Director of Land Rover Phil Popham has been promoted to Global Brand Director.

Popham achieved success as Managing Director of Land Rover, recording record profits in April 2010 and seeing a rise in sales for several consecutive months.

He also saw the introduction of the lightest, smallest, most efficient Range Rover ever in the form of the Range Rover Evoque.

His success in turning the brand around has led to his promotion during the restructure, which see’s Colin Green replace him as Managing Director of the UK.

Green, who is currently Global Marketing Director, will take over the running of the company in the UK and will also sit on the Executive Board.

The final two appointments in the board reshuffle include a new role for Jaguar Customer Services Director Mike Wright, who will take up the role of Executive Director of Jaguar Land Rover.

Finally, Adrian Hallmark, previously at Saab, has been appointed Global Brand Director at Jaguar.

All four senior executives are members of Jaguar Land Rover’s Executive Committee and report directly to Dr Ralf Speth, Chief Executive Officer, Jaguar Land Rover.

“These new appointments and the new structure significantly strengthen the marketing and sales organisation for the Jaguar and Land Rover brands within the framework of one globally successful company,” commented Dr Speth. “The changes will also ensure that the voice of the customer is heard even more clearly at the most senior level in the business.”

The appointments will come into effect on 1 December.
