This means the ‘Red Victor 3’ car, based on a modified version of a 1967 Victor FD, is allowed on UK roads despite the monstrous 8.8-litre, twin-turbocharged GM V8 engine delivering 3000 horsepower.
With a top speed of 240mph and a quarter of a mile sprint time of 6.5 seconds, the Victor will be the star of the show at the VXR Power Festival at the Silverstone Circuit on Bank Holiday weekend in August.
"We’re sure visitors to the Power Festival will make a B-line for the Victor," said Stuart Harris, Vauxhall’s Group Product Manager. "We’re really looking forward to working with Andy Frost, Red Victor’s creator, and his team next year and see this as a great match for the VXR brand."
The Victor will appear alongside the rest of Vauxhall’s high-performance VXR range, including the Corsa VXR, Astra VXR and the stunning VXR8.
Celebrities such as racing drivers Jason Plato, James Thompson and Fabrizio Giovanardi will be joined by Eastenders’ Kara Tointon, ex-England footballer Luther Blisset and TV Chef James Martin at the event.
Also on show will be 0-60 challenges, autotesting, karting and the chance to drive the VXR range under the tuition of pro-drivers.
Adult tickets for the event, on 28-29 August cost £10 and children under five enter for free. The on-site activities in VXR cars cost between £5-10.
