The awards, decided yearly by the fleet car experts, assess cars on durability, running costs, company car taxation and residual values.
The Ford Fiesta, a popular car with business downsizers, was awarded the best supermini and the S-Max was named as the best people carrier for business users.
Ralph Morton, editor, Business Car Manager said: “These two Ford models thoroughly deserve these awards after meeting our stringent selection criteria. They don’t cost the earth to run and hang on to a lot of their value – they are ultimately very desirable.”
The Ford Fiesta costs from under £10,000 and offers zero road tax CO2 emissions of 98g/km and fuel consumption of 76.3mpg.
The car is the best-selling model in the UK this year and is popular with both private buyers and business users because of its small insurance costs, reliability, simple but attractive styling and low running costs.
A new Ford S-Max MPV is a sporty people carrier with extensive practicality and reliability. The car was also named best MPV at the Auto Express New Car Awards in 2010.
Over 300,000 units of the new Ford S-Max destined for business users have been fitted with Ford’s East Fuel filler nozzle system to prevent the wrong type of fuel damaging the vehicle.
Kevin Griffin, director fleet operations, Ford of Britain said: “We are delighted to receive these two accolades. Ford’s best-ever car range appeals to a wide spectrum of customers, including the demanding business sector, and we are thrilled that the popularity of our cars continues to result in winning awards.”
