Vauxhall reveals art cars

The Corsa is adorned with the grass image for the reopening of Vauxhall Motors bowling club and it will be joined by a convertible Astra Twintop designed to look like a streamlined ice cream van and an Astra decorated by illustrator Jamie Cullum.

His car features a series of bright designs in keeping with the retro-looking event logo, also designed by the illustrator.

It isn’t the first time Vauxhall has decorated its cars for an event. Earlier this year a Vauxhall Corsa was used to showcase Spirograph art and a swarm of hand-drawn bees at an art-based car boot event.

Vauxhall has used the retro theme to celebrate the reopening of the club, which was founded in 1905 by the car company.

As well as the cars, visitors to the East London event will be entertained by a multi-coloured club house with psychedelic English garden flowers, picnic food, ice cream and live music.

The event, on 1st August 2010 from 12pm to 6pm, takes place at Brick Lane in London and tickets are free at http://www.vauxhallmotorsbc.co.uk.
