Kia’s new 4×4 will join the new Soul and Sportage when they are introduced this year as the Korean manufacturer attempts to grow its share of the market in the UK, which has grown from 1.89 per cent to 3.29 per cent in the past 12 months.
"This is an exciting time for Kia and we’re delighted to see the new model on the forecourt," explained Terry Davies, General Sales Manager of Perrys Kia in Burnley. "With Kia’s unique 7-year warranty and new £2000 loyalty reward, all current Sorento drivers can trade in their old vehicle and get £2000 off the price of a fantastic new model."
The five- or seven-seat Kia Sorento SUV comes in two-and four-wheel drive, and with prices starting at £20,495, the Sorento offers a cheaper but well-equipped alternative to luxury rivals such as the Land Rover Range Rover.
All models are fitted with anti-lock brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) as well as Electronic Stability Control (ESC) featuring Downhill Brake Control (DBC). Six airbags (twin front, side and side curtains) are standard.
The Sorento was recently awarded a top five-star rating on the EuroNCAP safety tests, making it the third Kia model to receive the maximum score – the others were the cee’d and Soul – since the test was revised last year.
The Kia Sorento also received top marks in the American equivalent of the EuroNCAP rating and was labelled a ‘Top Safety Pick’ by the Insurance Institute for Highway safety.
