Jaguar shines at Pageant of Power

The Liverpool waterfront will be host to a selection of the best supercars in the world tonight as it hosts the Pageant of Power, a warm up to the main event at Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire.

At home amongst the Lamborghinis and Bugattis are two of Jaguar’s newest high-performance cars in the shape of the XFR and XKR – supercharged versions of the latest luxury cars from the big cat.

The flagship XFR model arrived last year to the UK complete with supercharged 503bhp V8 engine and covers 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds. It’s also one of the best road cars around and offers unrivalled comfort and handling.

Joining the XFR in Chavasse Park in Liverpool, surrounded by rally cars, supercars and even the odd JCB, was the XKR coupe.

The latest model is the fastest XKR ever – something it will demonstrate as part of the Pageant of Power alongside the other cars on show.

It has a top speed of 155mph, but this can be extended to 174mph with an optional speed pack. It shares the 5.0-litre supercharged engine with the XFR and like the saloon, boasts Jaguar’s traditional luxury and style.

Surrounded by supercars such as the impressive Bugatti Veyron, the Jaguar’s seemed sleek, luxurious and excellent value for money. There wouldn’t be many non-supercars lined up to celebrate the prestigious Pageant of Power, but the Jaguar bridges the gap between practicality and high-performance easily.
