For one weekend, Renault will sell 1,000 Renault Clios across the UK for £7,450 to reflect 1990s prices in celebration of the 20th birthday of the iconic supermini.
The model being offered at the lower price, the Clio Extreme 1.2-litre, is £3,590 less than the current list price. The price has been lowered to match the Clio RL 1.2-litre from 1990, when the Clio was first introduced.
The offer will take place on 21-23 May as part of a 20-day festival organised by the French marque to celebrate 20 years since the Clio first rolled off the production line.
In that time, the three generations of the Clio have sold over ten million units worldwide and over one million in the UK.
Renault recently released a limited edition 20th Anniversary Clio for the occasion, complete with 20th edition badging, newly-styled front bumpers, sporty 16" Lyria alloy wheels and sports upholstery.
It is now giving away a special edition model -worth £15,000 – to the winner of a prize draw for anybody test driving a Clio before the end of June.
Twice European Car of the Year, the Renault Clio first arrived in 1990 and came to the fore after the hugely popular Papa and Nicole advertising campaign.
In honour of the 1990s advertising campaign, Renault will also be giving away 1,000 copies of the Mr & Mrs Smith French Hotel Collection Guide to test drivers and another prize draw will give away 20 romantic weekends in Paris.
