Green credentials boost Citroen LCV sales

A total of 1,340 Citroen LCVs were sold during April as demand for the Nemo, Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay continued to rise.

The French manufacturer now boasts a market share of nine per cent and is closing the gap on best-selling brands such as Ford and Renault.

Citroen claims the strong sales performance – up 22.61 per cent since the turn of the year – is down to lower-CO2 emissions across the range.

All Citroen LCVs have Euro 4 HDi engines boasting low CO2 emissions. For example, all Citroen Nemo vans powered by the 1.4HDi engine emit less than 120g/km of CO2.

Citroen’s Airdream LCV range has been designed to lower emissions further and all models in the range 95 per cent can be recycled at the end of their life. Airdream models include the Nemo, Berlingo and Dispatch vans.

In addition to the green measures, Citroen says it has improved safety, comfort and communications in range-topping vans across the range for 2010.
