The supercharged Jaguar XKR coupe delivers a maximum speed of 174mph, an increase of 19mph on previous editions. Jaguar says the XKR is now moving closer to supercar territory with the latest option pack.
The 2011 model year Jaguar will deliver 510PS and 625Nm of torque from the 5.0-litre supercharged AJ-V8 Gen III R engine. This pushes the car beyond the previous electronically limited maximum speed.
Jaguar claims customer demand for a faster Jaguar XKR convinced them to offer the Speed and Black optional packs as an option.
The Speed Pack extends the Jaguar’s speed to make it the fastest XK ever. On top of this, the Pack features an aerodynamic splitter and larger rear spoiler to increase balance and reduce lift for a more stable and controlled drive, even at high speeds.
Superficial touches featured in the Speed Pack include a choice of seven colours, chrome finish window surrounds, 20" alloy wheels and red brake callipers.
The Black Pack, available only with the Speed Pack, adds 20" black alloy wheels, gloss black finishing on the front grille and window surrounds and the option of a sweeping XKR side body graphic.
The Jaguar XKR Convertible and all other XK and XKR models have also received red brake callipers and a tyre repair Instant Mobility System (IMS) as standard.
The XK Coupe range starts at £61,995 and the Convertible starts at £67,955. The Speed Pack costs an extra £3,500 and the Speed and Black Pack costs £4,000. The optional packs are available for the Jaguar XKR coupe only.
