The Renault Wind is priced below rival convertibles from Mazda (MX-5) and Peugeot (207CC) at £15,500 for entry level models.
The Renault Wind roadster has been timed for a summer release and boasts an electrical retractable hard-top roof to take advantage of any sunny weather over the summer months.
Luckily for UK drivers, the roof can be closed again within 12 seconds to avoid any downpours. The coupe also boasts ABS, ESC, brake assist and driver and passenger airbags, sports seats and 16" alloys as standard.
In celebration of the launch, Renault has launched a limited edition model called Collection. It offers a more luxurious interior, chrome effect door mirrors, heated seats, gloss black roof, chrome dash inserts and Collection badging.
Renault is offering two trim levels in the shape of entry-level Dynamique and sportier Dynamique S, with the choice of 1.2 and 1.6-litre engines.
The Dynamique S model adds 17" alloy wheels, auto lights and wipers, alarm and Bluetooth connectivity to the standard equipment level.
A range of style accessories and optional equipment is being offered with the Wind to allow buyers to customise their model.
The Renault Wind starts at £15,500 and a top-specification model is priced at £17,300. The special edition Collection price ranges from £17,300 and £18,200.
Orders for Renault’s new roadster will begin in May, with first UK deliveries arriving in July 2010.
