New Airdream+ engines for Citroen models

The Airdream+ range was introduced earlier this year with the 99g/km C3 Airdream+ and has now been extended to three models.

Both models feature a 1.6-litre HDi engine and a host of technology to boost fuel efficiency and cut CO2 emissions.

The result is fuel economy of 62.8 and 74.3mpg in the C3 Picasso and C4 respectively and CO2 emissions across the range between 99g and 119g/km.

All three models in the Airdream+ range will be exempt from first year VED. The road tax was increased from 1 April 2010 in order to encourage sales of ‘greener’ cars.

The CO2 emissions have been reduced thanks to technology such as a Diesel Particulate Filter System and optimised manual and automatic gearboxes, depending on the model.

Additionally, the Airdream+ range is built using 85 per cent recyclable components made from ‘green’ materials to support the low-CO2 branding of the range.

Citroen has based the Airdream+ range equipment levels on the VTR+ specification available on standard models.

However, all Airdream+ models add a Connecting Box with Bluetooth and USB socket, and rear parking sensors.

The C3 and C3 Picasso feature the 1.6HDi 90hp engine and cost £14,590 and £14,645 respectively. The C4 uses the 1.6HDi 110hp version and is priced at £18,345.
