Renault releases 20th Anniversary edition Clio

Over ten million Renault Clio models have been sold worldwide since the French car was launched in 1990, helped by popular the ‘Papa and Nicole’ TV advertising campaign.

The Renault Clio 20th Anniversary special edition is now available to buy and the French marque has warned only a limited number of models are available.

The special edition Clio is based on the five-door hatchback version of the supermini and comes in a selection of colours, including the exclusive Pearl Black model.

The new limited edition is priced between £14,671 and £16,393 depending on the engine and optional equipment chosen.

Four engines are offered with the special edition Clio, including 1.2 TCe and 1.6 VVT petrol engines, and 1.5 dCI diesel units in 86 and 106bhp variants.

Joining the standard three and five-door hatchbacks, Sports Tourer and Renaultsport 200 hot-hatch versions in the Clio line-up, the limited edition boasts unique 20th anniversary accessories.

Anniversary badges are visible on the B pillars and the front bumper mouldings and door mirrors have been given a gloss black finish.

Pearl Black versions also include 16" alloy wheel and extra tinted rear windows and tailgate and anthracite grey door handles and side mouldings.

All versions of the 20th anniversary model offer a generous equipment level, including satellite navigation, climate control, cruise control, electrically adjustable and folding door mirrors and front and rear electric windows.

With impressive EuroNCAP safety ratings, the Renault Clio has been a consistently reliable and popular supermini for the French manufacturer.

A regular fixture in the top ten UK sales charts, the third generation Renault Clio was given a mid-life facelift in 2009 to refresh the model.
