For the sixth month running, Land Rover sales have risen in the UK, boosted by the recent wintery weather, which increased sales across the 4×4 SUV segment.
Despite industry experts such as the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders predicting a downturn in car sales in the UK towards the end of 2010, Land Rover insists the line-up, including the Range Rover, Freelander and Discovery, will continue to thrive.
Phil Popham, managing director, Land Rover said: “The desirability of our latest product line-up itself is stronger now than ever before and the momentum looks set to continue.”
Worldwide, the brand sold 30 per cent more in February 2010 than the previous year’s February total. Land rover fared particularly well in France and Portugal, where there was an 87 and 156 per cent increase in sales respectively.
Facelifted versions of the Discovery, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport will be introduced in the summer in the UK as part of the Land Rover 2010 line-up.
