The eco:Drive Fleet will optimise fuel consumption and reduce CO2 emissions in Fiat’s company vehicles and van fleets.
Already available in Fiat cars, the eco:Drive system is used by 34,500 drivers, who have travelled more than four million miles on UK roads.
Fiat estimate over 2600 tonnes of CO2 has been saved already by drivers using the eco:Drive system, which offers drivers tips on how to drive more efficiently.
The free application, available from the Fiat website, is optional for the entire Fiat range, including the Fiat 500, 500C, Punto Evo, Bravo, Qubo and new Doblo.
Now the Grande Punto van, Fiorino and Doblo Cargo will be able to use the system to maximise mileage and fuel economy by slight alterations in driving style.
"Offering eco:Drive to fleets will spread the undoubted benefits of this technology, helping drivers to improve their driving efficiency, saving fuel and reducing their impact on the environment," says Andrew Humberstone, managing director, Fiat Group Automobiles UK and Ireland.
The technology has proved a hit since its launch in 2008, picking up several awards including Best Digital Technology at the Guardian Innovation Awards and Best Use of Innovative Technology at the CLIO Awards 2009.
