The Peugeot range – soon to incorporate a new design of the famous Lion badge in its line-up – helped to increase Peugeot’s share of the market to 5.56 per cent.
The scrappage scheme was a big factor in improved sales of Peugeot cars, including 107, Peugeot 207, 308 and 3008 crossover.
In the light commercial van (LCV) sector, Peugeot took 12.02 per cent of the market in February and the popular Bipper van is currently on top of the best-selling van of 2010 table.
Jon Goodman, MD of Peugeot Motor Company, said: "Well, we’ve done it again in February, proving that January was not a New Year quirk and massively outperforming the market and consolidating our market share.
"What is more, underneath these standout figures lies an upward trend in business use that reflects the quality, driveability and excellent ownership package that come with a Peugeot."
The Peugeot RCZ will be the first Peugeot car to feature the new Lion badge when it is released in Spring 2010.
