Based on the Revolte concept revealed in 2009, the Citroen Survolt is a new take on the supermini-sized sports car segment.
The coupe-style design is a departure from conventional small cars emphasised by a motor sport inspired spoiler and sculptured flanks.
Measuring 3.85 metre in length and just 1.2 metres in height, the Survolt is low-slung like a sports car and the two-seat cockpit sits between chrome finished roll bars.
Under the bonnet, Citroen has continued to build on the Revolte’s cleaner technology. Citroen claims the all-electric drivetrain will not only offer zero-emission driving, but a silent and high performance drive.
Citroen has indicated a limited number of the cars will be produced specifically for racing. The French marque has announced the car will explore the potential for an electric powered sports car designed for the track.
The all-electric Citroen range will be expanded in late 2010 when the Citroen C-Zero city car is introduced in the UK.
The C-Zero is on display at Geneva alongside the Survolt, Revolte and DS High Rider hybrid concept cars, and the new C3 Picasso demonstration model.
