Seat completes Ibiza line-up with ST model

The Seat Ibiza ST has joined the Seat Ibiza supermini line-up alongside the Ibiza five-door hatchback and Ibiza SportCoupe.

Seat based the model on the IBZ concept, introduced back in 2009, and timed the release of the sporty estate for the 25th anniversary of the Ibiza range in 2010.

Designed by a team led by Luc Donckerwolke, the Ibiza ST reflects the style employed in the design of both the hatchback and SC models. The front end bears the Spanish manufacturer’s ‘Arrow Design’ and the rear features split rear light clusters.

The emphasis was very much on space in the design of the Seat Ibiza ST. The 4.23 metre long sport tourer is 18cm longer than the hatchback and offers a load capacity of 430 litres.

In the UK, buyers are given the choice of three petrol and two diesel units. At the top of the range sit 1.2 TDI and 1.2 TSI units. The new Ibiza ST is offered with a dual clutch DSG automatic/sequential manual gearbox.

Seat have marketed the Ibiza ST as a supermini estate designed as a ‘youthful and sporty’ car capable of storing more luggage than other models in the Ibiza range.
